The SA Cup is off to a lively and entertaining start, with Suzuki Griquas and Sanlam Boland Kavaliers leading the pack after three rounds — and clearly not in the mood to share the spotlight.
Both teams have won all three of their matches and sit comfortably at the top with 15 points each. If this were a race, they would be running side by side, occasionally looking at each other and saying, “You first.” But neither is stepping aside just yet.

Hot on their heels are Airlink Pumas and SWD Eagles, both sitting on 12 points with two wins each. They are close enough to keep the leaders nervous, like guests who arrive early to a party and refuse to leave.
Novavit Griffons are also in the mix with 10 points, proving they are not just here to make up the numbers.

Things get a little more interesting in the middle. Toyota Cheetahs, a team many expected to dominate, have had a slow start with just one win and eight points. It’s not panic stations yet, but fans might be starting to raise an eyebrow… or both.
Valke are also trying to find their rhythm, sitting on five points and hoping for better days ahead.

At the lower end of the table, it has been a tough few weeks for Eastern Province, Leopards, and Border Bulldogs. Eastern Province has managed just two points, while the Leopards have one. As for the Border Bulldogs… well, they are still looking for their first points and possibly a bit of luck, a miracle, or both.

With the competition still in its early stages, there is plenty of rugby left to play. The top teams will be fighting to stay ahead, while others will be desperate to climb the table.
If the first three rounds are anything to go by, fans can expect more excitement, surprises, and maybe even a few shock results.
One thing is clear the SA Cup is wide awake, and it is not planning to be boring anytime soon.
