Mangaung
The Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE) 2026 is in full swing, having kicked off on 03 September and running until 13 September 2026. Africa’s leading cultural festival has once again transformed Bloemfontein into a hub of music, theatre, comedy, fashion and cultural celebration, with entertainment galore for all ages.
From star-studded main stage concerts to intimate theatre productions, MACUFE 2026 continues to showcase the best of African creativity. One of the headline theatre offerings this year is ARABANG – The Musical, a powerful and timely production that promises to be more than just a show.Featuring the extraordinary talent of Free State’s very own artists – including the enthralling, soothing voice of Phila Dlozi – ARABANG is a showcase of homegrown excellence on the biggest stage. ARABANG is a clarion call. It means: Rise. Respond. Act.
The musical confronts the scourge of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) head-on, using music, drama and storytelling to inspire action and healing. Organisers say this is not just a production, but a movement.”When you sit in that auditorium, share this poster, or buy a ticket — you are answering the call to end GBV. Every single one of those acts matters.
