The Cashibe World Cup tournament has finally come to an end, and what a finale it was! The stadium was electric, with supporters packed in like sardines, as Tiki Taka from Potchefstroom took on Marks of Excellence from Ventersdorp in the ultimate showdown. The air was thick with excitement, and fans were on their feet the whole time, cheering on their favorite team.
The match itself was a thrilling ride, with Marks of Excellence taking an early lead and never looking back. Despite Tiki Taka’s best efforts, the experienced players from Ventersdorp proved too strong, securing a 2-0 win and the 2026 Cashibe World Cup title.Among the VIPs in attendance was JB Marks Local Football Association chairperson, Mr. Mpho Dipheko, who praised the Ikageng community for their unwavering support throughout the tournament.
“I’m proud to be part of this beautiful game,” he said.Speaking to The Sports Eye after the match, Marks of Excellence coach Thato attributed their victory to teamwork, saying, “This is a tournament we couldn’t miss, and being in the finals is the result of our hard work and dedication.” The champions walked away with the trophy, medals, and a handsome prize.
