City Lads Ladies finally registered their maiden win of the 2026 season in the Hollywoodbets Super League Amplified when they stunned TUT Ladies in a 3-1 win at the Tshwane University Stadium in Pretoria this past weekend.
The Eastern Cape side also managed to score their first-ever goals in the current campaign as they came from behind to collect their first three points. Bottom-of-the-table in the SuperRise stream of the league, City Lads had lost their previous seven matches but turned the tables on the fourth-placed TUT Ladies. Teenager Iminathi Makinana, who is 14 years old, was the star of the show for the Gunners and scored two goals with the assistance of Bongiwe Ngoepe.
The students, however, remain eighth on the table, six points behind both First Touch Ladies and Ezemvelo Ladies in their group. Still on the SuperRise stream, table-topping JVW were held to a 1-all draw by Ramatlaohle Ladies to leave the former on 18 points, four ahead of second-placed University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ezemvelo Ladies. JVW are yet to lose this season.
Third-placed University of Fort Hare (UFH) closed the gap on UJ Ladies and are now just one point behind after brushing aside First Touch Ladies in a 1-0 victory. Siyamthanda Qashani has shot to the top of the goal scorers’ charts after her second hattrick in as many matches. The University of Pretoria (Amatuks) forward was the destroyer in chief when they beat Stellenbosch FC 4-0. Qashani, who was a well-deserved Player of the Match in this fixture, is on seven goals, one above Noxolo Cesane of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
The defeat keeps Stellies at the basement of the table as they are still in search of their first point – the only team yet to win a match this campaign.
AmaTuks are second on the log standings in the SuperEra stream, five adrift of log leaders and reigning champions Banyana ba Style who notched their seventh win on the trot in a 1-0 triumph over Diepkloof Ladies. The Brazilians have a game in hand. In other results in this stream, the University of the Western Cape (UWC) scored three without reply against TS Galaxy Queens, their second loss in a row by the same scoreline. The Capetonians have now scored six goals in two outings.
A 10-player Copperbelt Ladies held on to win 1-0 against Richmond United Ladies.
