The struggling Marumo Gallants have announced the appointment of Jamail Benouahi, as the new head coach.
The Morocco born coach comes in to fill the boots left by Alexandre Lafitte who was recently fired by the Bahlabani Ba Ntwa. He was fired following a spell of poor results that saw the team fighting for dear life in the Betway premiership.
The management of the team believes that the former Rahimo FC mentor is the right man to take the team out of the relegation zone. He will be working with assistant coach Julien Outrebon and Trevor Mathiane.
Benouahi will not have much time to work with the team as his first assignment comes quickly away to Magesi FC next Tuesday at the Seshego stadium in Polokwane.
The contest won’t be an easy one for the Bloemfontein based outfit as they face the equally struggling side who are rooted at the bottom of the log table.
The duo shared a spoil in the first-round game where they played 1-1. As things stand, Gallants are 14th on the table with 18 points after 22 games. They are just four points from Magesi who have played 21 games.
“Marumo Gallants FC remains committed to uphold the highest stand of professionalism, governance and performance both on and off the field, as the team continues its preparation for the remainder of the season. The club would like to thank its supporters, partners and stakeholders for their continued support and understanding during this period,” the team statement read.
