The Lesotho national senior men team, Likoena are up for a fight as they go on a mission to qualify for the 2026 CAF African Cup of Nations. The boys from the Mountain Kingdom will play against Seychelles in the preliminary round of the competition in a back-to-back fixture next week in Bloemfontein.
As part of motivation, the Lesotho Football Association (Lfa) President, Lijane Nthunya, has revealed Likoena will receive M300 000 as bonus should they win their two games against Seychelles.
Nthunya was speaking at the press conference which was held in Lesotho on Wednesday. The president has pointed out that half of the money was from the Ministry of Sports. “The money will be shared by players and the technical team,” he said.
