The Sir G Charity Soccer Tournament took place at Ikageng Stadium, bringing together four teams to compete for a noble cause. The tournament, organized by Mr. Godfrey Xhalabile, aimed to raise funds and awareness for a sanitary pad initiative to support young girls in school.

“We wanted to do more than just play soccer,” Mr. Xhalabile said. “We want to give back to those in need and help keep our girls in school.” The tournament saw Sir G 11 emerge victorious, winning the final against Potch Masters.

The event was a huge success, with the community turning out in numbers to support the cause. The winning teams took home trophies, and individual awards were given for Man of the Match, Player of the Tournament, and Leading Goal Scorer.

The initiative will benefit chosen schools around Potchefstroom, and Mr. Xhalabile hopes to make it an annual event. “We need to take care of our girls so they can take care of us tomorrow,” he said.
