The Maweza Community Games brought smiles to the faces of elderly community members in Kanana, near Klerksdorp, as they showcased their talents in soccer, netball, and other activities. The event aimed to promote healthy living, hope, and active aging among older community members. All participants were given a chance to join in, and the games celebrated life and active aging, with medals and applause for their efforts.
Event organiser Doreen Ntlatseng said, “We want our elderly to be active, healthy, and loved. They’re our pillars of strength, and it’s our turn to give back. We need to help them and show them love, regardless of their age.” Ntlatseng added that the games promoted healthy lives through sports and proved age is no barrier to staying active
