The North West Provincial Community Police Board recently held its Non-Elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Ngwenya Hotel from 26 to 27 February 2025. The Provincial CPF Chairperson, Mr Malungane, delivered the opening remarks and outlined the purpose of the AGM. He explained that the meeting aimed to present a comprehensive report on the work, achievements, and challenges experienced by the Provincial CPF Executive since their election.

The report highlighted various crime prevention initiatives, community awareness campaigns, partnership programmes, and youth development initiatives that were implemented across the province during the reporting period. The AGM was well attended by District Chairpersons, Secretaries, Treasurers, District Coordinators, and members of the Provincial Youth Crime Prevention Desk from across the province.

Donors and business partners were invited as special guests. During the event, appreciation certificates were presented to recognise their support and valuable contributions in strengthening the partnership between the CPF and the business sector. Several outstanding individuals and districts were also recognised for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to community policing.

Awards Presented

The following awards were presented in recognition of exceptional performance, strong leadership, active community involvement, and commitment to crime prevention initiatives within their respective districts:
– Best District CPF in the Province: Bojanala One District
– Best District Commissioner: Bojanala One District
– Best District CPF Coordinator: Sgt Ngxitho (Bojanala One)
– Second Best District CPF Coordinator: W/O Van Rooyen (Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District)
– Provincial Administration Recognition
– Three Provincial Administration Clerks were also recognised for their continuous administrative support and assistance to the Provincial CPF in various initiatives.
– The recipients were A/C Kokwe, A/C Motsemme, and A/C Mbeki. Their dedication behind the scenes ensured that programmes and events were properly coordinated and successfully implemented.

Special Recognition
Special appreciation was extended by the Provincial Treasurer to Sgt JD Matolong, the Provincial Crime Awareness Officer, for her innovative thinking and for assisting the Provincial CPF in organising the AGM in a new and impactful manner.
Her unwavering dedication, tireless effort, and commitment to ensuring the success of the initiative were highly commended. Sgt Matolong worked diligently, often sacrificing her personal time to ensure that the programme was successfully executed. Her passion and leadership played a significant role in strengthening partnerships and promoting excellence within the Provincial CPF structures.

Brigadier Molate, the Provincial Head for Proactive Policing, delivered a message of support on behalf of the Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Dr Naidoo. In his message, he thanked the CPF structures for their dedication and the important role they continue to play in supporting the fight against crime.

Colonel Governder also expressed appreciation to the business partners whose generous support contributed to the success of the event. Business partners from Potchefstroom, Ikageng, Ventersdorp, Klerksdorp, and Rustenburg, together with the management of Ngwenya Hotel, were acknowledged for providing accommodation and valuable support during the AGM.

The North West Provincial CPF extended its gratitude to Costma for their continuous support and contributions towards making their events a success.
