The Cashibe Cup tournament was a resounding success, bringing together 16 teams from around Ikageng, including Extensions, for a thrilling week-long celebration of soccer. The tournament, which took place from December 18th to 24th, was a huge hit with the community, with Ikageng Stadium packed to capacity for every game.

The tournament featured a range of talented teams, including All Stars, Tiki Tak, Sibanda United, Promosa United, Ikageng Arsenal, Torino FC, Ten Percent, Royal Tigers, Ten Stars, Costa City, 2 for Joy and Lamasia, Marks of Excellence, Mshaya, and Sparks. After a series of intense matches, the final games saw Tiki Tak take on Promosa United in the U/17 category, with Tiki Tak emerging victorious 2-1.

In the first team category, All Stars beat Tiki Tak 4-2 in a penalty shootout, while Promosa United beat Tiki Tak 3-1 in penalties in the U/15 category. The tournament also recognized outstanding individual performances, with Joe Stallenberg from Promosa United named Player of the Tournament for U/15, and Gontse Thubaki winning the U/17 Player of the Tournament award. Tiki Tak was crowned Best Team of the Tournament.

The tournament was attended by several dignitaries, including the Mayor of JB Marks Municipality, Gaba Thithiba ka Qele, and other community leaders. Speaking after the tournament, Cashibe, the tournament organiser, expressed his joy at seeing the community come together to support their teams. “It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it,” he said, echoing the sentiments of players, coaches, and officials.

The Cashibe Cup tournament was a huge success, bringing the community together and promoting the love of soccer. It was a testament to the power of sport to unite people and create a sense of community and camaraderie.
