Despite the gloomy weather, the Ikageng Stadium was recently buzzing with excitement as runners of all ages gathered for the annual Fun Walk. The 5km walk, which has grown in popularity over the years, saw participants braving the rain to take part in the event.
The winners of the walk were announced as follows: Mr. Mogomotsi Segomelo took the top spot, followed closely by Mr. Isaac Senokwanyane in second place. In the women’s category, sisters Miss Neo and Neonyane Diseko took the top spot, expressing their joy and gratitude for being part of the event.
According to Mr. Lebogang Mohlokwane, a member of the local organizing committee, the main objective of the Fun Walk is to give back to the community while promoting fitness and healthy living. Each year, the event selects a deserving community member to benefit from the initiative. This year’s beneficiary was Thabang Kaudi, who received essential items such as clothes, sanitary pads, toiletries, and canned food.
When speaking to Mr. Kaudi, he expressed his gratitude and fulfillment in being able to make a difference in the lives of others, particularly the youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. The event was a huge success, showcasing the community’s spirit and commitment to giving back.
