The excitement was palpable at the Ikageng Stadium recently as local school kids gathered for the highly anticipated Build It Soccer Tournament. More than 15 schools participated in the tournament, which marked a thrilling conclusion to the local school sports calendar before the final exams.

Project manager and tournament organizer, Mr. Oupa Mothibedi, expressed his delight and excitement about the outcome. “Potchefstroom never disappoints,” he said, praising the large turnout of students who came to support their peers, even if they weren’t playing. Mothibedi promised to continue hosting this type of event with the help of Build It.

The final match was a nail-biter, with Keotshepile Primary facing off against Little SaintFC. The score was tied 1-1 at full time, but Keotshepile Primary emerged victorious, winning 3-2 in a penalty shootout.

The winning team’s coach, Mr. Mohammed Tebogo, who is also a teacher at Keotshepile Primary, was thrilled with his team’s performance. “I’m very happy about my boys’ performance,” he said. “I promise to continue supporting them in both sports and education, helping them reach their full potential.”
